Notes:

Essential Oils: Feel free to customize your body butter with any essential oils you love! Choose oils based on your favorite scent, the mood you want to create, or for therapeutic and medicinal benefits. For example, lavender is calming, eucalyptus is refreshing, and tea tree has antibacterial properties. Make it your own!

Additional Carrier Oils: You can also enrich your body butter by adding extra nourishing oils like olive oil, coconut oil, sweet almond oil, jojoba oil, or avocado oil. These oils can add extra hydration, skin-healing properties, and a lighter or creamier texture, depending on how much you add.

Herbal & Spice Additions: Get creative and add ingredients like cinnamon, clove, peppermint, or other herbs and spices for additional scent and healing properties. These not only make your body butter smell amazing but can also offer soothing, warming, or refreshing effects on the skin. Always adjust based on your preferences and skin sensitivity!

Step by Step Instructions

Melt Butter:

Melt the butters: In a double boiler (or a heat-safe bowl over a pot of simmering water), gently melt the shea butter and cocoa butter together until fully liquefied. Stir occasionally.

Once the butter is fully melted, remove it from the heat, add arrowroot powder, and stir in the jojoba oil. Mix well to combine.

Cooling Mixture: Allow the mixture to cool at room temperature for about 15-20 minutes, then place it in the refrigerator for 30-45 minutes, or until it becomes partially solidified but still soft enough to whip (like a solid butter brick).
Using a hand mixer or stand mixer, whip the mixture on high speed for 5-10 minutes until light, fluffy, and creamy.

Whip Mixture:

Once whipped, add the essential oils. Whip again briefly to fully incorporate everything.

Spoon your whipped body butter into a clean, airtight jar or container. Store at room temperature in a cool, dry place. Use within 6 months for best freshness.
